‘PETER PAN IN A PICKLE’

Fundraising To Support Head2Head Theatre

‘PETER PAN IN A PICKLE’

‘Peter Pan in a
Pickle’ was a rare treat at half term last week for children to enjoy and
become involved in the well know children’s story.  They travelled with Peter Pan and Wendy to
Neverland where they dressed up as mermaids, built a ‘Wendy’ House and met the
dreaded Captain Hook.  Taken on an
adventure, the actors from Head2Head Theatre took the children from room to
room with singing and stories until they ended up on pirate ship and rescued
Wendy from walking the plank. The play ended with them safely back with Wendy
in her home.It was a real
pleasure to the see the children, some in wheelchairs and some with learning
difficulties and disabilities, become so involved with the story and to watch
the joy on the faces of the siblings and parents who could share this magical
experience.

As Director of Kisiel Group, a local building company, I was so proud of our team who undertook fundraising activities which enabled us to raise and donate £1,206.10 to Head2Head Theatre to sponsor one day of the show at the Sherwood Park School in Wallington.

The script was
cleverly written by Sara Cole, Volunteer Artistic Director, with plenty of
amusing parts aimed for the adults as well as sign language and sensory
involvement for the children.

You only have
to hear some of the parent’s feedback to understand how vital these shows are:

“Head2Head Theatre is the only thing we can do all together that both boys enjoy.  You can entertain and capture the imagination of a 6 year old deaf boy with high-functioning autism and a 3 year old with Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties. You are all amazing!”

“Lovely to be able to relax knowing that my son’s behaviour won’t bother anyone”

“Essential for children like mine.  We are not able to participate in other activities so we need this theatre experience.”

Head2Head funding has been cut so if they are to hold another show at Sherwood Park School next year, they need your support.  If you would like to raise some money or make a donation to support this interactive, walkabout multi-sensory theatre for youngsters with learning difficulties and disabilities and their families, please contact Anni at Head 2 Head Theatre (charity number 1161873).  Email: anni@head2headtheatre.co.uk.  Find out more about their activities.
